I could not count the number of times I have seen great training wasted on race day through poor nutrition. You don't have to eat fancy sports bars and gels or drink a particular brand of sports drink to perform well, but you do need to follow sound dietary practices to optimise your performance. Whether you are competing to break records or just to get over the finish line, you can do it better with the right balance of fuel and fluid.
