Help Yourself was established by Kerith Duncanson and Rick Naylor in 1996. Kerith and Rick have more than 50 years combined experience in the medical, health and fitness industries. The business was originally established to provide 1:1 and small group services to dietetic and exercise clients on the NSW mid north coast, however, it has now evolved into a nutrition and dietetic business exclusively, providing face to face and online dietetic services. Dietetic consultations are available in a variety of locations on the NSW Mid North Coast and also in Newcastle.
Dr Kerith Duncanson is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with 25 years of dietetics experience – in the private and public health sectors. Kerith has recently commenced a private practice in Newcastle, specialising in sports nutrition, gut nutrition, eating disorders and child feeding. This consulting work complements Kerith’s work at the Hunter Medical Research Institute as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow and lecturing in Nutrition and Dietetics at The University of Newcastle. Kerith actively supports and mentors the Help Yourself dietitians who consult throughout the Mid North Coast of NSW.
Rick has spent more than 30 years in the education, health and fitness industries, working in a variety of corporate and community settings. He had previously practised as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, with a special interest in chronic disease, however he is now concentrating on managing and further developing the nutrition and dietetic services offered by Help Yourself, and making these services more accessible to more people. He has recently collaborated with Kerith to develop the FODMAP SWAPP app.
