Kerith has recently commenced a private practice in Newcastle, specialising in sports nutrition, gut nutrition, eating disorders and child feeding. This consulting work complements Kerith’s work at the Hunter Medical Research Institute as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow and lecturing in Nutrition and Dietetics at The University of Newcastle. Kerith actively supports and mentors the Help Yourself dietitians who consult throughout the Mid North Coast of NSW.
Prior to moving to Newcastle, Kerith worked for 20 years on the Mid North Coast as a private practice dietitian and Community Nutritionist. She completed her PhD in early childhood nutrition is 2014. Kerith’s interest in sports nutrition and her interest in becoming a dietitian as a career choice, both stemmed from Kerith’s own experience as an elite level endurance athlete. Kerith has represented Australia in road, track and cross country running and duathlon, and has represented NSW in road cycling and triathlon.
Kerith’s pragmatic and intuitive approach to providing dietetic advice stems from this diverse professional experience, combined with a thorough enjoyment of food and eating! Kerith has been involved in academic research and is the author of various peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. She is also the published author of a book titled “Licence to Eat”.
