Dr Georgina Williams

Georginas post-doctoral work as a research dietitian continues to explore the relationship between diet and the gut microbiome, particularly in the context of gastrointestinal conditions such as metabolic associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, previously fatty liver disease ‘NAFLD’), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and Crohn’s disease. She is currently involved in a clinical trial investigating the role of dietary components in the management of Crohn’s disease, with the goal of advancing dietetic practice in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) care.

In addition to these research focus areas, Georgina has clinical experience in managing food allergies and intolerances, including food chemical intolerance (e.g. histamine sensitivity), disaccharidase deficiencies, and the use of specialised diets such as low FODMAP. She is particularly passionate about helping people with gastrointestinal conditions reduce unnecessary dietary restrictions and achieve optimal nutrition through a personalised, evidence-based, and sustainable approach.

With a personal interest in endurance sports, Georgina understands how gut-related symptoms can affect performance and enjoyment. She enjoys helping active individuals manage digestive symptoms while supporting their health and performance goals.
