More about Dumping Syndrome
Dietary Management
Dumping syndrome is a condition in which food, especially foods high in sugar, move from your stomach into your small bowel too quickly after you eat. Sometimes called rapid gastric emptying, dumping syndrome most often occurs as a result of surgery on your stomach or oesophagus. Most people with dumping syndrome develop signs and symptoms, such as abdominal cramps and diarrhea, 10 to 30 minutes after eating. Other people have symptoms 1 to 3 hours after eating. And others have both early and late symptoms.
Personalised dietary management helps you adjust meal size, timing, and food choices to ease symptoms while ensuring your nutritional needs are met. As your symptoms change over time, we work with you to adapt your diet for continued comfort and nourishment. Drawing on both research and clinical experience, we offer clear, practical advice that cuts through conflicting dietary information. Ultimately, this reduces the stress around eating by offering realistic options and tailored support, empowering you to take control of your health with confidence.
